The music and lyrics of Avenue Q were written by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. In the year 2004 they won a Tony award for Best Original Score. Avenue Q also won the Tony for Best Book (written by Jeff Whitty) and the greatest award of the evening: Best Musical.
